Part of the empowerment process for grantseekers in the Global South is the ongoing task of establishing relationships with possible funding sources. Seeking funding is an effort that rarely offers immediate results. Research, careful preparation and persistence are required. To aid in those efforts, ForAL has created:
Includes:
* Database of funders (primarily U.S.) who fund in Latin America and the Caribbean
(In PDF format; requires Adobe Acrobat Reader; available free at: www.adobe.com.)
* Technical Assistance Tools, directories, and other resources for grantseeking organizations
Impulsando el cambio social – Directorio de recursos financieros para Organizaciones y Movimientos Sociales (Leveraging Social Change – A Directory of funding resources for organizations and social movements) is a valuable, easily accessible tool that includes help both with identifying prospective funders and with how to go about establishing successful funding relationships. It was created specifically to assist organizations working for positive social change in Latin America and the Caribbean. Most of the materials are in Spanish. Some English-language funders directories and technical assistance tools are also included.
